Took my car for a very tricky issues . After taking it to different shops Protrans Finally got it fix . Some issues came up but Protrans went above and beyond to make it right . No wonder they have very good reviews . They are Good people that are really trying to help the customer!

God put this exceptional shop in my path I recommend pro trans for all your mechanical needs not only because they are extremely knowledgeable BUT for their honesty. I went to Aamco and they wanted to rebuild my transmission I decided to get a second opinion & god sent me here they took care of the problem without the transmission rebuild because it was not needed. HONESTY is hard to come by especially in the mechanical field but I found it here thank you Michael & Sam for all your help and again honesty. Love you guys see you on the next one. Thank you!

After receiving 2 astronomical quotes for A/C repair, the owners of the company that cleans my litter boxes told me about ProTrans. I had been told that I needed a condenser, and two hoses. ProTrans gave me a quote foe the A/C inspection, and I left my car with them. I got a call later that day, and they agreed that the condenser needed to be replaced, but that the hoses were not leaking. I was given a quote less than half of the previous quotes! Obviously, I asked them to go ahead with the repair, and I have A/C again. This is a family owned business. It's a great environment, and the staff is courteous and thoughtful. Easy, smooth, and overall the best experience. The customer service and care here are outstanding. They were very upfront, answered all of my questions, and got everything done quickly. I brought my Chevy Camaro in because it had a shudder. From the start, he was completely honest and explained that while it could turn into something more serious, like a transmission rebuild, there’s also a known issue with these cars. Chevy has put out a notice about an updated fluid that has been resolving the problem for many drivers. He made it clear that this was the best-case scenario, but didn’t guarantee it, just gave me honest, straightforward information. They performed the transmission fluid service, and it worked perfectly. Problem gone. What really stood out to me is that they could have easily pushed for a much more expensive repair, and I wouldn’t have known any better. Instead, they chose honesty and did what was best for me. Very trustworthy shop. I’ll definitely be recommending them to others and coming back in the future.

Protrans Automotive is a shop you can trust to get your repairs done right. They deal with OEM parts on major repairs. Communications excellent on estimates and with state of the art billing software. If you have an older vehicle needing major engine repairs, this is the shop. I recently had timing chain, spark plugs and oil pan gasket replaced on a ford 5.4, a beast of a job. You can trust your repairs will be done right and warranted. I'm glad to have found this repair shop since recently moving to Riverside from Hawaii. Check them out before going anywhere else. Highly recommended.

ANOTHER 2025 UPDATE So my "check transmission" light would come on and then go off. It might have been any number of things, but the recommendation was to rebuild the tranny after 100,000+ miles. It's an old car. I'm buying a new car. But this old car will be great for a backup ride. And I'm attached to it. I was able to wrap my brain around the expense. ProTrans has always had a transmission expertise, and this current result is a knock-down, stand-up superb performance. The Trooper runs and shifts better. It doesn't have a leak problem anymore. I checked stories of friends who maintained old vehicles, some with engine overhaul and even more than once. Take the Consumer Price Index for each year and apply it to those expenses of 30 years ago. You come out with a number close to what I paid today. I can drive around with total confidence now and visit dealerships to pick the new ride. It's about time. I am advised that "I deserve it". But ProTrans has done great keeping up my old Trooper, and likely continue to do so. ProTrans is extremely reliable in getting to the bottom or cause of any problem. We replaced my alternator after the idiot charge light came on. They quoted me $500, and there was a short in the alternator wire requiring attention to it and replacement of the voltage regulator in the newly rebuilt alternator. They sent me home with a vehicle in perfect shape, for about $600, given the additional complications.

August 2025: 2012 VW Tiguan. Had a turbo leak and visited Protrans for the first time. Guided me through everything by giving frequent updates. Great service! January 2026: Visited for a regular oil change + and Auto transmission fluid change. Took two days. I would've preferred if I received timely updates rather than me having to call frequently. Good service as always nonetheless.

Took my car to diagnose a check engine light that had turned on and off along with the slippage warning light. Protrans took a look and couldn't find any error codes in the computer, so it's mystery! It was very nice of them not to charge me the diagnosis fee. I'll be back to service my vehicles here.

I don't normally leave business reviews, but I had such a nice experience I thought I would. I bought a used 7.3 about 4 years ago and have been doing most of the work on my truck when I have the time. I am definetely not an expert. I had a few things that I needed to have done with the shop (loose shifter, water pump, etc) and I felt that it was fair and I wasnt cheated in the slightest. Then they gave me a list of things that I needed to do in order of pritiorty and I was able to take care of a few of those on my own. They taught me a few things about my truck, did not shame me in the slightest as other shoos have in the past, but rather gave me helpful recommendations and knowledge on subjects I had no idea about. If I ever have trouble in the future, I would definetly shop here.

In viewing a YT video on what needs to be done at 150,000 miles to my '13 Nissan Altima, I found out that it needed a transmission service with both filters, gaskets and fluid replaced. Since I've taken previous cars to ProTrans for transmission service, they were the obvious choice. Very efficient..however..these days went in for oil change.. come out with other repairs.. Though ,I am glad mechanic saw I needed replacement gaskets at motor. But he scared me by stating everything broken .that scares me..my car is not klunking or making any noise.

I recently took my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 into PROTRANS due to transmissions. I have high mileage truck that I commute in and play in. My issues were that my transmission started sticking into gears, and resisted upshifts- under acceleration. It was a frustrating problem. So, I googled a local transmission shop in Riverside on Gato Street after reading their reviews online. Not knowing what to expect when I walked in, I was met by Mike who said they fix issues like this all the time. They were able to assess the problem quickly and quoted me a reasonable price on a rebuild, which I agreed to. I picked up my truck a few days later and I could not believe just how well my truck drove. It has never driven better with zero shifting issues. They did a better job on my truck transmission than I ever anticipated. I would highly recommend PROTRANS to anyone who is in need of transmission service!
