I was in Riverside over the past week to attend Memorial services for my sister who passed a couple of weeks ago. While there my alternator went out on my truck. Having found Protrans through the site repairpal. com they were the first and only phone call I had to make. Initially spoke with Samantha who knew immediately from the symptoms I described what the problem was... Sandy got my appointment arranged for the following morning. All within about 24 hours I had a quote and my truck fully repaired back on the road this morning to arrive home safely in Arizona. He ran like a champ! Ok. Just got a call about the bushing being worn out as well. I thought seal kit I bought would fix the problem. I was mistaken. I did a little research and found out that the bushing wear is a common problem associated with this type repair on my 2009 Ford Escape.

These people (Pro-Trans) are right on.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had some work done on my brakes by another shop about a month or two ago. My brakes started having more problems and I took my car to Protrans. They offered to fix the problem caused by the other shop for free. They got the work done quickly and my car has been running great since!

Hands down the best place to take your vehicle! I highly recommend Pro Trans, Sandy is such a pleasure at the front desk. They treat you like family, not just customers. I recently took in both my van and my truck to get fixed, and they made it seamless for me. I was able to drop off my truck, they fixed it, then drop off my van after. They are truly genuine and both vehicles are doing great! My wife came here about a year ago for her Nissan versa, and they fixed it and I came for my van once before. So this was our 4th time using them, and each time is great! I never had a "go to" mechanic and I feel like I will be using them for many years to come and I am comforted to know that they are around when I need them.

Life savers. After running around town 5 or 6 different places they were referred and Sandy at front desk (who should be a mechanic, knows about cars) put me at ease. Talked to a tech Mark he took my car for a spin, knew what was wrong and my car found a new repair shop. Mike breaks down to the bolt explaining the issue. Sandy has a place she can call if you want or need to rent a car. They will drop you off and pick you up at the Hertz rental. They will not rush to fix your vehicle, they treat your car as if it was their personal car. Will only do the work that is necessary and if something else is needed will call you first. Warm, friendly, professional, wonderful group of people. Excellent work! Save yourself time just go to them.

My rear end went out on my 1999 Ford F-150 I purchased new in 2000 with 102,000 miles. It was a total shrapnel mess after I opened the cover, non repairable. I used YELP to research a positive post for my repair needs. It was between ProTrans and Riverside Transmissions, (who were a bit more in price while asking for estimates/quotes?. My rear end was not easy to find. The Owner Mike said he tried three different junkyard rear ends but they were not the correct ones. Later, after about a week, he said he can pick up a rebuilt one for $200 more. What could I do? Nothing really. So within a day or so, it was installed and ready. I paid $1900 with a 6 month warranty. I've had no issues, but I do not drive it that much. Thanks Protrans!

Check engine light came on and they diagnosed and did routine maintenance on my car. Suggested some future repairs but were not pushy about up-selling at all. This is only my 2nd Yelp review I've written in my life, but feel like I have to for this auto repair shop. We were traveling from out of town for vacation and broke down (transmission line) just off the freeway. Protrans just happened to be the closest transmission shop, so I had it towed there. We arrived late in the afternoon, only 90 minutes before they closed. Even though they were very busy with cars from their regular customers, they understood the time constraints and situation that my family was in, and that we didn't want to stay the night to have it worked on the next day. Amazingly, they somehow fit us in, fixed the problem quickly and affordably, and absolutely saved our weekend vacation. Mike and his crew at Protrans are awesome, professional, and empathetic to customers' needs.

My 2015 Chevy Tahoe was diagnosed at a dealership with transmission failure and I was told I needed a new transmission due to the amount of metal found in the pan. The dealership I was working with ended up voiding my manufacture warranty and stating the transmission was actually not the problem, it was my tires... 1800 miles later, I am at Protrans getting a second opinion. My transmission was in fact failing, it was just a matter of when it was going to leave me stranded. Michael and his team worked with my extended warranty and did the best they could to help me get it covered. Unfortunately, my extended warranty bailed on me, due to GM's decision to block my warranty. The repair my Tahoe needed was now coming out of my pocket. Michael helped me out by pushing my vehicles priority to the top and they got it fixed SUPER QUICK!! I am so happy to have my Tahoe back, so happy with the service I received, and will be coming back for future maintenance. I would recommend Protrans to anyone who may be having transmission problems.

Great Experience! We were recommended Protrans from AAA. I had a huge bolt in my tire and I went here to get my tire patched. The owners Michael and Sandee are very genuine and hospitable. The place is very clean, smells great and even have keurig coffee machine in the waiting room. I went here to get my tire patched and a few days later I received a handwritten thank you note from them, very rare these days. I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely recommend them for any service.

I went to Protrans based on reviews from Yelp. My transmission was having problems that were difficult to figure out to say the least. I was extremely pleased with Michael and his staff, They went way out of their way to make sure my transmission problems were fixed. It took several visits to get it right again and each time Michael was great and even giving me rides home or picking me up.

I love this shop.Since McNairs Auto Service closed down this is my new go to shop. I have been there several times. I found them through AAA website. They are close to my house. Its a good family owned business. I had a speed wobble going over 60 MPH I figured it was a tire balance issue. I swung by on my way home. They took me in right away. Michael took me into the back and showed me my tire was separated. All I can say is Thank You Jesus it didn't blow and cause an accident. They took good care of me. Sandee, Maria, Michael and Samantha were great. And I can't forget to mention Niki the Shop Doggy. Just as adorable as can be. Highly recommended.

Had my Nissan minivan towed to Protrans due to thumping sound when changing gears on a Monday noontime for diagnosis. Thought it was going to be an expensive transmission fix. Got a call from Mike on Wed. and advised that crank sensors be repaired first before going into the transmission. Gave my green light and that fixed the problem!! A $500 fix instead of a possible $3500. Drove my van home that Friday. These guys are good!!!

Coming from the perspective of a college student at UCR.. The head technician Mike is a great guy and when it comes down to it, THEY FIX YOUR CAR. There is no funny business or shadiness about this place which is what a lot of car owners worry about when taking it to a auto technician. Just the brief statement if you have no time to read my story: They handled my calls and my mechanical issues in a professional and very honest matter which, its hard to find these days. I do 100% recommend this shop. No matter how far but I'm taking my car there from now. My son was involve in an accident and the hood and front end was damaged. The car was leaking and overheated. They could easily add up cost to it (you know what i'm talking about). He is an student in UC-Riverside. I don't leave in Riverside myself so after calling around and reading reviews I towed the car to Protrans automotive.... My contacts were Samantha and Mike.

They diagnosed to check for possible problems then he got back to me with just one issue which was the Radiator and he said he had to do some body work since the Core Support damaged the Radiator and he did that for free of coast and gave me a grate pricing just to change the Radiator and flushing the coolant system. They also tuned the body work just to make it look better for free of charge. After that i asked them to change my break and check for other problems. My car is 2002 an old model Hyundai and again they could easily add other issues.

In overall after 30yrs i can say that i genuinely trust these guys words and their works. Do not hesitate to contact them. Try them please.

As a first time car owner/driver, I went in for both an oil change and to have the alignment worked on on my 2011 Kia. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They were honest about the work that would be done and let me know that I would be notified if my car would require any other work in their initial inspection. Had to use the "T" word problems, not the Kendal/Bruce Jenner "T" word but transmission. I live in Perris, not the fancy one, and started calling local shops for transmission help, no transmission person mostly general mechanics. Called Protrans and the nice lady who answered the phone said she would check with their transmission guy. I brought my Dodge 3500 truck in and the transmission guy was familiar with the problem and said he would look into it. As we all know transmissions are made with Leprechaun hair and Unicorn tears and their magic is very expensive so I figured if I could find a virgin to sacrifice to the transmission Gods all would be well. I couldn't find a virgin, on a side note don't search for virgins on Craigslist on a work computer, Richard from IT will call you to see if you are at yours and then that lady from HR comes with some flyers about company computer policies. So they called and I steeled myself for the amount, the price they first gave me I asked how much would the labor be, they it was inclusive. When I went to pick it up he explained what he had done and why he did it. I looked at the paperwork and in my most masculine voice I said, "that's what I thought it needed" The bill did surprise me it was actually a little less than we agreed to with no extra hidden charges or services. I would definitely recommend them to everyone. The only thing that could make them better would be if they were an AAA approved repair facility. oh wait they are!

I had an issue with my Altima, it acted just like a transmission issue, and i was prepared to bite the big bullet for the cost of a new one. But after they did there analysis, which at first I was highly skeptical of at first, it was a multiple sensor issue that they repaired and fixed the car. A very happy customer, because I was prepared to pay 5 times as much for a new tranny.

So instead of looking for a new car today I'll be driving around my old one. Why? Because the people at ProTrans in Riverside totally took care of me. It turned out that my motor mount was bad, not my transmission, but did they up-sell me? Not at all. They fixed the problem, same day, for $200 and because I have AAA it comes with a 24,000 mile 24-month warranty. My car works great again, no loud shuddering, and I'm a VERY happy customer! :DDD I was recommended to come here by another very happy customer and picky car owner who had nothing but praise for this place. Excellent service! I brought my '94 Firbird Formula to Protrans after it was sitting for 7 years. Mike did a "No Start" assessment and found the problem which turned out to be a bad fuel pump. So my car died on the 215 and it just so happened this was the closest car repair shop to my home. I didn't expect much from a place tucked away like it is but I was so wrong. Seeing that they had all on there plate already I dropped my car off for someone to take a look at for a fair price. An hour later I get a call telling me the worst that the car was, D E D, dead. Just the brief statement if you have no time to read my story: They handled my calls and my mechanical issues in a professional and very honest matter which, its hard to find these days. I do 100% recommend this shop. No matter how far but I'm taking my car there from now. My son was involve in an accident and the hood and front end was damaged. The car was leaking and overheated. They could easily add up cost to it (you know what i'm talking about). He is an student in UC-Riverside. I don't leave in Riverside myself so after calling around and reading reviews I towed the car to Protrans automotive.... My contacts were Samantha and Mike.

They diagnosed to check for possible problems then he got back to me with just one issue which was the Radiator and he said he had to do some body work since the Core Support damaged the Radiator and he did that for free of coast and gave me a grate pricing just to change the Radiator and flushing the coolant system. They also tuned the body work just to make it look better for free of charge. After that i asked them to change my break and check for other problems. My car is 2002 an old model Hyundai and again they could easily add other issues.

In overall after 30yrs i can say that i genuinely trust these guys words and their works. Do not hesitate to contact them. Try them please.

my truck was entering dire straights, it needed new clutch, hydraulics, and a transmission rebuild. Protrans took care of it. now my trucks is in good running shape. they are AAA approved so you know you will get your money's worth. 5 stars all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
